Hi everyone! My name is Harley.
I'm from Auckland, New Zealand. My major in university was Chinese which led me to Taiwan in 2008 for practice. While I was here I discovered a passion for teaching that prompted me to return home and study teaching formally. Since then I have taught all levels of English to adults and teenagers from all over the world. I have found that the most effective learning strategies all depend on being immersed in a relaxed environment in which you can be yourself. I work hard to find topics and materials that resonate with my students and generate a real desire to communicate. I believe that everyone has something to teach me, and I enjoy learning from my students as they hone their English skills. I enjoy teaching at David's as they give me the freedom to tailor lessons to my students needs. Come along, tell us your goals, and let's get started.
Hi everybody! I'm taking the intermediate conversation course at David's for six months. For me, a guy who has to work almost every day, having English class to enrich my life is a really great thing. Even though I have to hurry to class right after work and I'm tired, I still get to learn something in each class, so it's worth it. Every time before class, I think I'll be able to speak fluently, but when class starts, I stumble over my words. But that's the way language study is -- you've got to improve a little bit at a time.
