I was the exact opposite. I loved working with students from abroad, learning about their native language or languages, encouraging them when they doubted themselves, and ultimately watched them succeed.In most cases, they simply needed the encouragement of a native English speaker–someone to believe in them and remind them that they were capable of the challenge.
